Delaware State Police say 27-year-old Robert Butler, of Milton, had been taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center after the crash, where he is currently listed in critical condition.

According to the report, Butler was riding a motorcycle on Coastal Highway on the Indian River Inlet Bridge, at a high rate of speed, when he hit the back of a Chevrolet Van, sending him into a concrete barrier, before stopping.

The DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit is still investigating this crash. SR1 Northbound was closed for about 4 and a half hours during the initial investigation and crash clean up.
