Crisfield Accountant Accused Of Theft

CRISFIELD, Md. - A Crisfield Accountant, Chris Sterling, was arrested this morning by Maryland State Police, accused of theft.

According to police, the victim says his accountant of 10 years, Sterling, forged over 93 checks, of his money to the tune of over $56,000.

Sterling was charged with theft, theft scheme, forgery and other related criminal charges. He's since been released on unsecured bond.

WMDT has confirmed that Sterling was also the accountant for the Chamber of Commerce, no complaints have been made yet on their behalf.

Police are urging anyone doing business with Chris Sterling CPA to go over their accounts.
