NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware police say a man has been charged in a shooting incident on campus. No one was injured during the shooting.
Police tell The News Journal of Wilmington that 20-year-old Brandon Fletcher of New Castle was arrested Tuesday. He has been charged with four counts each of first-degree reckless endangering and aggravated menacing, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and criminal mischief.
According to court records, the incident stemmed from a fistfight between two men over a pickup basketball game.
Authorities say one man ran to a nearby car, got a handgun and ran toward the crowd. Officials say the man fired shots in the direction of the man he had argued with. No one was hit.
The suspect then fled in a car.
