DE Beach Replenishment Project Moves To South Bethany

Posted: Updated:

SOUTH BETHANY, Del. - A $19.3 million beach restoration effort is making its way up the Delaware coastline.

Crews have finished their work in Fenwick Island and are currently in South Bethany. According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this won't affect Labor Day weekend traffic as crews will start clearing their equipment from the beach this Wednesday in time for the weekend.

The entire project is expected to be completed by mid-December.

Federal aid from the more than 60-billion dollar Sandy recovery package will pay for the restoration.
