Hebron Man Accused In Salisbury Attempted Murder

SALISBURY, Md. - A Hebron man has been charged with attempted murder in Wicomico County.

Salisbury Police say on Wednesday, just before 5:00 PM, officers responded to a call about an assault at the Halo Shelter on South Boulevard. An investigation showed that two men had exchanged words, when one attempted to leave, the other followed and knocked him down.

According to the report, the suspect beat the victim, and stabbed him one time in the lower torso/back area, and then fled on foot. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries at PRMC, and later released. Police say they identified 23-year-old Lamar Jones, as the suspect. He was arrested without incident on N. Main Street in Hebron, with assistance from the Maryland State Apprehension Team.

Jones was charged with attempted 1st and 2nd degree murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, false imprisonment, and dangerous weapon with intent to injure. He was released to the custody of Central Booking.
