CRISFIELD, Md. - A local Police department says they are beefing up patrols this year, after violence broke out last year at a town event.
Crisfield Police say they will be out in full force at this year's Crisfield Crab Derby, after last year's derby ending with a shooting. After the shooting, Police had to implement a curfew at the Crisfield Housing Authority.
Crisfield Police say they will have help from many other Police Departments to ensure full coverage at all of the events around the city. In a press release, Crisfield Police state, "We are dedicated to ensure the safety of all citizens and communities of Crisfield."
The National Hard Crab Derby will be a full weekend event in Crisfield, on Labor Day weekend, August 29th, through September 1st.
