Salisbury Safe Streets Offender Sentenced To 28 Years Behind Bars

SALISBURY, Md. - A top 25 Salisbury Safe Streets offender is set to spend a long time behind bars, after being sentenced on Tuesday.

The Office of the State's Attorney for Wicomico County says that 27-year-old Aaron Carey of Salisbury, was convicted of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, wear, carry, and transport a firearm upon person, wear, carry, and transport a firearm in a vehicle, and resisting arrest.

The conviction stems from a January 27th traffic stop, where Salisbury Police arrested Carey, near Shay's Pub on Columbia Road.

Carey was sentenced to 28 years active incarceration, the first 6 of those years are a mandatory minimum, during which he won't be eligible for parole, because of being a prohibited person from possessing firearms.
