OCEAN CITY, Md. - If you plan to spend the last days of summer in Ocean City, make sure to bring some extra change.
The new controversial paid parking meters are still effective. Monday, Councilman Brent Ashley reportedly made a motion to cover up the Cale machines on the areas affected by the paid parking ordinance until the official signature count of a more than 16,000 signature petition is verified. But, we're told that got shot down.
The Worcester County Board of Elections is currently working on verifying the names on that list. If the petition is successful, the ordinance will halt until either the Town Council calls for a special election, or the topic is placed on the November 2014 ballot.
