Fruitland Residents Express Their Concerns At Town Hall Meeting

Posted: Updated:

FRUITLAND, Md. - Members of many local communities gathered for a town hall meeting in Fruitland on August 20th to address their concerns as first district residents to Representative Andy Harris.

The meeting was held at the Black Diamond Catering and Lodge for Harris to answer questions about the work he is doing in Washington. Many locals say, there are a lot of issues that worry them.

"I'm just very concerned for my kids and grandkids, the healthcare thing is a very scary thing," says Joe Howard, a Somerset County resident.

"I am concerned about the immigration status in general and fair practices for all," says Judy Davis, a previous teacher Wicomico County.

Harris represents Maryland's first congressional district, which includes the Eastern Shore. He is holding a similar meeting in Easton on August 22nd at 5:30 PM in the Brookletts Place Senior Center.
