DOVER, Del. - A Dover woman is behind bars after Police say they found a gun and drugs in her vehicle.

The Kent County Governor's Task Force reports that during an arrest at the Kent Budget Motel on Monday, around 11:20 PM a Trooper noticed 42-year-old Dorena Coleman, in a nearby vehicle, from another arrest, and figured out that she had active capiases. According to the report, as the Trooper walked up to Coleman, she threw something towards the center console, and when the Trooper asked for identification, she was uncooperative.

Police eventually pulled her from the vehicle and arrested her on the two capiases. Police say they searched the vehicle, and found a loaded .380 caliber semiautomatic handgun, a box of ammunition, ninety-six bags of heroin totaling 1.92 grams, 1.3 grams of cocaine, nine strips of suboxone, and 15 prescription pills.

Coleman was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held at Sussex Correctional Institute on $50,500 cash bail.
