One Arrested In Georgetown Home Invasion, More Wanted

GEORGETOWN, Del. - A home invasion that left one person recovering from a gunshot wound, is under investigation in Sussex County.

Georgetown Police say on Thursday, around 11:30 PM, they were called to Kimmey Street, where an investigation reportedly showed that multiple suspects forced their way into a home, in an apparent attempt to rob the person inside.

According to the report, the victim was shot one time during the incident, which resulted in a non-life threatening injury.

Police say they canvassed the area when they arrived, and located one suspect, 36-year-old Donta Vickers, of Georgetown. He was charged with 1st degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, home invasion, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and 2nd degree conspiracy.

The investigation into this incident is still on-going, and Georgetown Police are asking anyone with additional information to contact Detective Cordrey at 302-856-6613, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
