Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge To Stay Open For Meteor Shower

CHICOTEAGUE, Va. - A local wildlife refuge will be staying open all night, so give visitors a chance to see a meteor shower. On Sunday August 11th, into Monday, August 12th Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge will stay open all night to let visitor see the Perseid meteor shower.

Those who want to see the shower should arrive before 10 PM, but can leave at anytime, however anyone leaving after 10 PM, won't be allowed back in until 5 AM. Only beach access and parking will remain open for the meteor shower, there will not be access to trails or visitor facilities.
