UPDATE: Force In Rehoboth Beach Taser Incident Was Lawful

Posted: Updated:

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - It's been determined that a Rehoboth Beach officer accused of police brutality, acted lawfully. The Department of Justice began an investigation after the April 7th incident involving Corporal Robert Whitman.

It was alleged that the use of his taser during the arrest of Jeremy Anderson was too forceful. The arrest, caught on camera, caused a fire-storm of controversy online.

However, an investigation and review of evidence concluded that Corporal Whitman's actions "were not criminal acts and are not subject to criminal prosecution under Delaware law."
