Cause Of Berlin House Fire Still Undetermined

BERLIN, Md. - A house fire that killed a family pet in Berlin, is under investigation.

The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office says the blaze broke out around 4:30 PM on August 2nd in the Adkins Road home. When crews arrived they reportedly found heavy smoke and fire coming from the single story home, and detached garage.

Firefighters from seven departments worked to control the fire, late into the evening, for approximately 8 hours. One firefighter was treated for minor injures at the hospital, and released.

Officials say the cause of the blaze is listed as undetermined at this time, and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact chief Deputy Matthew Owens at 410-632-5666 or by email at mowens@wcfmo.org.
