DSP Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Crash In Laurel

LAUREL, Del. - A fatal pedestrian crash that happened on Sunday night, is under investigation in Laurel.

Delaware State Police say around 11:15, John Wilson, 22, of Laurel, was driving his Chevrolet Silverado on Sussex Highway, near Sycamore Road, when a Hispanic male reportedly walked into the same lane of his truck, and was hit.

The Hispanic man, who was in his late 20's, from Laurel, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is still being confirmed at this time, along with his next of kin being notified. John Wilson, and his 21-year-old passenger were wearing their seat belts, and weren't injured in the crash.

DSP's Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this incident. US13 North of Sycamore Road was closed for three hours while the crash was cleared.
