National Night Out Crime And Drug Prevention Events In Delmarva

DELMARVA - More than 15,000 communities in all 50 states will participate in the Annual National Night Out Crime and Drug Prevention Event on Tuesday, August 6th. From 5:00 to 10:00 PM, residents across the nation are asked to turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.

National Night Out is a unique event in which local law enforcement agencies partner with neighborhoods to promote public safety and prevent crime.  It is a great opportunity to encourage a positive relationship with members of the community, especially the youth.

Right here in Delmarva, many communities will hold special events in order to celebrate.

DELAWARE:

DOVER, Del. - The Dover Police Department and Target will hold a free event at the Dover Target from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, featuring food, displays of first responder vehicles, and more.

MILFORD, Del. - The Milford Police Department's Community Policing Unit is sponsoring an event from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bicentennial Park in downtown Milford. The event will feature "The Funsters" band, free food, drinks, emergency vehicles on display, and more.

MARYLAND:

EASTON, Md. -From 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Moton Park and George P. Murphy Pool, the Easton Police Department in partnership with the Town of Easton's and Talbot County's Department of Parks & Recreation will provide free swimming, food, fun, and live music. The evening will be topped off with a walk around the neighborhood.

FRUITLAND, Md. - Fruitland Police, along with several other agencies, is holding their event at the Fruitland Little League Ball Park on South Brown Street from 5 - 8 PM. There will be a bounce houses, fire truck rides, face painting, a DJ, fun games with prizes, free food, and much more. Special Guests from the Wicomico County Department of Emergency Services will be on hand to answer questions about disaster preparedness. This event is funded completely by donations from local businesses and organizations throughout the community.

OCEAN CITY, Md. - In Ocean City, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, the Ocean City Police Department, will hold an event at Fiesta Park in Caine Woods and Gullway Villas on Lark Lane.

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The Princess Anne Police Department is hosting their event at the Garland Hayward Youth Center on Rosa Parks Boulevard from 6 to 9 PM. Many other community agencies will also be on hand to participate in the event. The event will feature a moon bounce, music by DJ Redz, and a Zumba demonstration. SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury Safe Streets Coalition is having their event, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, in the City Park at the bandstand with free food, entertainment, games, prizes, and more. City and county officials will also be there, along with information from various community organizations. SNOW HILL, Md. - The Snow Hill Police Department and the Worcester County Sheriff's Department are teaming up for an event in Snow Hill, to be held at Byrd Park from 5 - 8 PM. It is free and open to the public, and will have games, music, food, and fun for all ages.
