DE State Police Uncover Portable Meth Lab In Greenwood Home

GREENWOOD, Del. - Delaware State Police Governor's Task Force say they have arrested a Greenwood couple after discovering a methamphetamine manufacturing operation in their house.

According to reports, on Friday, August 2, at approximately 10:22 AM, the Delaware State Police Governor's Task Force and Greenwood Police Department responded to a residence in the first block of West Market Street to locate Jamie Craft, 36, of Greenwood, who was wanted on an active JP court capias for a traffic violation. Troopers reportedly found Craft inside of the residence and was taken into custody without incident. Afterwards, they allegedly found John Benchoff, 31, an active probationer, who was determined to be wanted on probation and parole administrative warrant, and was also taken into custody without incident. Troopers say they discovered bottles containing waste associated with the byproducts of manufacturing of meth, along with equipment and key ingredients in making the drug. Troopers also reportedly discovered 0.1 gram of manufactured methamphetamine.

Jamie Craft was reportedly charged with manufacturing of methamphetamine, maintaining a drug property, conspiracy second degree, hindering prosecution, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. John Benchoff was reportedly charged with manufacturing of methamphetamine, conspiracy second degree, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Reports say that Craft was committed to Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on $13,000 secured bond, and Benchoff was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $11,000 secured sond. Troopers say they are continuing to investigate the situation.
