Big Brothers Big Sisters Back To School Bash

Posted: Updated:

EDEN, Md. - Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Greater Chesapeake Eastern Shore Office celebrated back-to-school time Saturday.

WMDT was out at Hazel Outdoor Discovery Center in Eden as the group was setting up for their annual "Back To School Bash".

Big Brothers, Big Sisters expects more than 50 kids to come out for games, an obstacle course, and tons of food.
Joshua Nordstrom, an event sponsor with Courtesy of Salisbury says "you look at the statistics for mentoring, it really makes sense to partner with an organization like this, it makes such a difference in the community."

"With most classrooms requiring that each child bring 14 glue sticks, and demands of the classroom, it's just an extra help for the students and our families," says Jessica Mimms, Eastern Shore Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Chesapeake Eastern Shore Office.

On top of the fun stuff, all of the children from the program will also get a free backpack full of school supplies.
