Heirloom Tomato Tasting At Heritage Museum In Snow Hill

Posted: Updated:

SNOW HILL, Md. - A Heirloom Tomato Tasting will be held in Snow Hill tomorrow, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Furnace Town Living Heritage Museum.

Tomatoes will be lined up on picnic tables beneath the Pavilion, where participants can try about a dozen varieties such as Yellow Pear and Black Krim. Sidney Merrill, Furnace Town's gardener, will be on hand to answer questions and to share information about growing tomatoes, as well as Master Gardeners and Educators. Judging cares will be available for each taster, and tomatoes can be rated from one to five, with five being the best, on initial taste, texture, after-taste, and overall, with room for comments. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children ages three through thirteen. All proceeds will benefit Furnace Town's educational programs. For more information, call 410-632-2032 or visit the Furnace Town website.
