Senator Carper Holds Job Fair For Veterans

Posted: Updated:

BRIDGEVILLE, De - Senator Carper held a job fair for veterans at the Bridgeville Library.

This is the 13th job fair that Carper has held since 2011. About 80 veterans and 25 employers were in attendance.

"I've spent 23 years on active reserve so I have a great affection for them. I remember what it's like to come back from The Vietnam War and get an education and look for a job. I wanted to make sure whoever was in that situation, whether you're coming back from Afghanistan, that they know that we're not going to just say thank you for your service. We're going to put our money where our mouth is, and make sure they get GI benefits, an education and get the preparation they need and find a job," says Carper.

The next job fair will be held on Monday, August 12th at the Middletown Volunteer Hose Company in Middletown from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
