Officials Say An Accident In Easton Leaves One Pedestrian Dead

EASTON, Md. - Maryland State Police say a woman died on Sunday after she was struck by a car on Route 50.

According to reports, Easton Police responded to an accident on Route 50 near Williamsburg Lane just before 10:20 PM on Sunday.  Authorities say an investigation revealed a 2012 Chevy Malibu, driven by 32-year-old Shahid Turner, struck 56-year-old Lou Ann Roberts of Trappe, MD, before striking a guard rail.

Officials say Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say an investigation is ongoing and charges are pending at this time.
