DNREC Building At DSF Hosts Local Officials

Posted: Updated:

HARRINGTON, Del. - Throughout the week, local officials have made their rounds to various areas at the fair. Today, WMDT caught up with Senator Tom Carper and Congressman John Carney as they spoke with kids in the DNREC building.

Senator Carper says he's highlighting different areas to keep the First State clean. "Part of what makes Delaware so special is we so a pretty good job of preserving the natural resources. We want to make sure at the end of the day that we still have good jobs, but we want to make sure we have our natural resources, our open spaces, and water that's clean."

When we asked the Senator just how long he has been coming to the fair, he looked at us, smiled and said four hundred years. Even at the fair, Senator Carper is still always joking.
