UPDATE: Identity Of Millsboro Homicide Victim Released

MILLSBORO, Del. - Delaware State Police have released the identity of a man who was reportedly shot during an early morning home invasion in Millsboro.

Police say they were called to the 25000 block of North Berry Bramble Falls off of Bethesda Road in Millsboro for a report of home invasion. Authorities say a 39-year-old female victim told them her 41-year-old boyfriend, James Rickards, was shot by one of two suspects that entered their home and demanded money.

According to reports, after shots were fired, the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. Police say it is unclear at this time whether or not the suspects fled with any cash or valuables.

The woman was not injured during the incident.

Investigators say the suspects were described as two males wearing dark colored clothing, with bandanas across the lower portion of their faces, and baseball caps. Police say one subject was armed with a handgun.

An investigation is ongoing at this time, we will continue to bring you more information as it becomes available.
