Aug. 1 - Watermelon Queens Visit Salisbury

GOOD MORNING DELMARVA - On August 1st, the National Watermelon Queen will be in Salisbury, visiting local venues with the Mar Del Watermelon Queen where they will be educating folks on the nutritional value of watermelons.

The Watermelon Queens are:

1. Chelsey Procino:

In early February the Mar-Del Watermelon Association crowned Chelsey Procino as their new 2013 Mar-Del Watermelon Queen. 

Chelsey is the 20 year old daughter of Mike and Patty Procino from Seaford, Delaware.  She is currently attending Delaware Technical College majoring in Nursing.  Traveling thru Delaware, Maryland, many other states and internationally as the Public Spokesperson for MAR-DELicious watermelons, Chelsey will educate the consumer about the health and economic benefits of watermelon.

2. Amber Renea Nolin:

Amber was crowned the 2013 National Watermelon Queen during the 99th annual convention of the National Watermelon Association in San Antonio, Texas, she will serve as Promotion Ambassador until February 2014.

Amber is the 21 year old daughter of Greg and Renea Nolin of Enterprise, Alabama, and is a Food Science and Nutrition major attending the University of Florida.
She plans to become an Oncologist Nutritionist. Amber sees Nutrition as a cancer-combating tool.

Amber enjoys entertaining, decorating, fishing, hunting and travel.
