DOVER, Del. - Police are looking into a reported Dover shooting, that apparently left a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Dover Police say on Sunday, around 5:45 PM, they received reports of shots fired at the intersection of Wyoming Avenue and New Burton Road between two vehicles. Shortly after that, a 20-year-old man arrived at Bayhealth in Smyrna, with a gunshot wound in the leg. Police say he was injured during the shooting at the intersection.
The victim had reportedly been sitting in the passenger sear of a vehicle when he was shot by the suspect who was driving a dark colored Ford Crown Victoria with tinted windows. Police describe the suspect as a black man with a muscular build, with short hair, last seen wearing a white tank top and black shorts.
The shooting was drug related, according to Police. The suspect is facing 1st degree assault charges.
