Hundreds Show Up For 22nd Annual MUD MADNESS Day Event

SALISBURY, MD - Hundreds of people showed up at Camp Odyssey despite the hot weather to attend the 22nd annual MUD MADNESS Day.

"It's hot on the eastern shore. It's hot in Salisbury so this is a great way to cool off. Dig a mud pit, use a tractor, get the kids in the mud. Put some ice in there. There's an ice bath. And build an obstacle course. It's a fun way to stay cool," says Council president Jake Day.

Other people in attendance included Mayor Jim Ireton and WMDT's web producer Leanne Murray, who says that this was an opportunity she couldn't pass up.

"Jumping in the mud because you don't get to do that, when as an adult do you ever get to jump in a giant mud puddle and get covered head to toe in mud?"

Mud Madness also kicks off a fundraising event the following evening to help support the Camp Odyssey Scholarship Fund.
