Dover Police Nab One Home Invasion Suspect, Looking For Another

DOVER, Del. - A Dover home invasion suspect is behind bars, while Police search for one more. Dover Police say on July 14th, 28-year-old Darnell Smith, of Houston, and James Wheeler, 23, of went into the back of a W. Division Street home, wearing something covering their faces and armed with handguns.

According to the report, as they made their way to the front of the home, where they ran into 4 residents, one who they threw to the ground and another who they took money from. Police say the suspects then fled into a nearby home.

Smith was later arrested, and charged with home invasion, 1st degree robbery, 1st degree burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, 2nd degree conspiracy, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, four counts of aggravated menacing, and offensive touching. He is being held at James T. Vaughn Correctional on $195,5000 bond.
