Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges In Ocean City

OCEAN CITY, Md. - Ocean City Police say a traffic stop turned into a drug bust over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning police say they arrested 54-year-old Teresa Hangland for a driving under the influence of alcohol after she reportedly failed numerous field sobriety tests.

Police say because her car was parked in the Northbound bus lane of Coastal Highway, officers requested a tow truck to tow the vehicle. Prior to towing, officers reportedly did a required inventory search of the vehicle and recovered 60 assorted prescription pills, cocaine, and other drug paraphernalia along with $3,000.

OCPD say Hangland is charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute, seven counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, eight counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, among other charges. She was held on $25,000 bond.
