UPDATE: Princess Anne District Court Cleared After Reported Bomb Threat

Posted: Updated:

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Maryland State Police confirm reports of a bomb threat at the Somerset County District Court in Princess Anne. We're told, at 12:30 PM on Tuesday afternoon, Princess Anne Police received the call.

At this time information is still limited but we do know that the building was evacuated and there were specialized crews on scene investigating. Everyone was moved to a nearby building. As of just before 2:30 PM, authorities say they have cleared the building.

They say they did not find any threatening devices.

"When we evacuated the building, everyone went over to the BB&T Bank trying to find shade," said Princess Anne police captain Timothy Bozman. "[Workers took to a nearby vacant building], so we got a key for it and people were going in their to get out of the heat."

Bozman says that police are actively investigating the situation to find out who placed the false bomb threat.
