DE State Police Investigate Claymont Rite Aid Robbery

CLAYMONT, Del. - Delaware State Police say they are investigating the armed robbery of a Claymont pharmacy that occurred late yesterday afternoon.

According to reports, at around 5:00 PM, the suspect entered the Rite Aid Pharmacy located on Philadelphia Pike, and removed several items from the shelves and brought them to the sales counter to check out. After the employee scanned the items, the suspect reportedly displayed an unknown type handgun and demanded money from the cash register. The victim allegedly turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect, and the suspect fled the store on foot with the merchandise and cash. There were no reported injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 20 and 25, about five feet, eight inches tall, with a thin build. He was reportedly last seen wearing a light colored jacket, white t-shirt, and dark pants, and is armed with an unknown type handgun.
