Officials Unveil New Downtown 'Bury Sign

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury Officials are seeing a literal sign of economic change in the "Crossroads of Delmarva"

Friday, members of the Salisbury business community unveiled a new road sign meant to capitalize on "pass through tourism" for drivers on the way to other Delmarva tourist attractions.  They say it's all possible because of new and expanding businesses in Salisbury's downtown area, but Council President Jake Day says this is just the beginning.

He tells WMDT, "the critical thing to recognize is that once you've got a success, and once you start to feel like you're going to have some successes, don't stop and pat yourself in the back.  This the time to, once we feel like things are going well, set the bar higher."

The sign is set to go up at the corner of route 50 and Mill Street once the weather clears.
