Salisbury Murder Victim Remembered As Father, Best Friend

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - State police are now searching for the suspect or suspects of 24-year-old Dominic Jones, who investigators say was shot and killed Monday afternoon.

His family says he is a father of two.

"That was my kids like favorite uncle," said Sherita Walker. "He was always around [and helped take care of my kids]."

"All I know is, I can't call him and I can't see [Jones] anymore," said Sherrell Walker.

Our news crew out on the scene and found Maryland State Police monitoring the area of Patrick and Keene Avenues, where Jones was gunned down. On Monday, investigators searched the area, collecting evidence and found what appeared to be Jones' blood on a neighboring lawn.

Troopers say that witnesses saw Jones run toward a dark-colored car with other individuals after the shooting, which apparently took him to PRMC, where he died, soon after.

"Not all of the individuals who were in the car initially stayed with the vehicle," said Greg Shipley of Maryland State Police. "However, during the night police were able to identify all who were in the car and they have located them and are continuing to interview some of those individuals."

WMDT called the Chief Medical Examiner's office in Baltimore to confirm cause of death, but due to the ongoing criminal investigation, those results could not released to us at this time.
