Traffic Stop Lands One Man Behind Bars In Willards

WILLARDS, Md. - A traffic stop lead to an arrest, in Willards, on Tuesday morning. Maryland State Police say a Trooper stopped a Nissan car on Route 50 at Woodyard Road for an equipment violation.

During that stop, the Trooper reportedly smelled marijuana, and searched the vehicle, and apparently found marijuana, and a loaded 9mm handgun inside. Police say a check of the gun revealed that it had been stolen from Ohio.

The driver, 25-year-old Kalief Armstrong, of Pennsylvania, was arrested, and charged with possession of CDS - Marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia, handgun on person, and theft. He is being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center pending a hearing.
