U. Delaware Raises Tuition For Students

Posted: Updated:

NEWARK, Del. (AP) - The University of Delaware says it's raising tuition for both undergraduate and graduate students next year.

The school announced the tuition hike on its website Monday.

The university says tuition and mandatory fees for in-state undergraduates will increase by $430, or 3.7 percent. That means a student from Delaware will pay $12,112, compared to last year's price of $11,682.

Out-of-state students will now pay $29,932 in tuition and required fees.

Tuition for graduate students will also go up in the 2013-2014 school year.

The university says the tuition increases are necessary to offset the rising cost of financial aid, employee salaries and benefits and operations support.
