Cyclist Air Lifted After Bike Reportedly Crashes Into Car In Easton

EASTON, Md. - An Easton woman is in the hospital after reportedly crashing through the back windshield of a vehicle. Easton Police say on Monday, just after 10:00 AM, 68-year-old Joyce Bell, of Easton was riding her bike on Easton Parkway, when she apparently didn't notice a Volvo stopped in the shoulder.

According to the report, the woman crashed into the back of the car, causing her head to crash through the rear window of the Volvo. She was reportedly not wearing a helmet. The woman was flown from the scene, to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, Police weren't sure of her condition.

Police say the driver of the Volvo, a 60-year-old Easton man, had pulled into the shoulder to use a cellphone, and was not a fault for the crash. He was not injured.

Easton Parkway, just South of Oxford Road, stayed open while crews investigated the crash.
