HARRINGTON, Del. - One man is behind bars, while another is still wanted by Police, after an alleged vehicle chase in Kent County.
Harrington Police say on Sunday morning, a little before 3:00 AM, an Officer tried to stop a vehicle on South DuPont Highway, for a traffic violation, but the vehicle reported accelerated away from the marked patrol SUV at a high rate of speed. According to the report, the Officer followed the vehicle, who was driving recklessly, until the driver reportedly lost control on Carpenter Bridge Road, drove off the road, and the vehicle became disabled, at which point, the driver and passenger apparently both, fled on foot.
Officers were able to catch the passenger, 33-year-old Timothy Mcleish, of Magnolia, and charged him with disregarding a police officer's signal, resisting arrest, hindering prosecution, and several other traffic offenses. He is being held at SCI on bond. Police say they weren't able to catch the driver, and that Mcleish refuses to identify the other suspect.
