"Hogs and Heroes" to host benefit for OCPD Officers

Posted: Updated:

OCEAN CITY, Md - Motorcycle group "Hogs and Heroes" will be hosting a fundraiser at Hooters of West Ocean City in response to the tragic events last Sunday that took the lives of two OC police officers.

All the proceeds raised during Friday Events of July will be donated to the families of PFC Josh Adickes and Ofc. Tom Geoghegan. Road Captain and Events Coordinator Michael "Sandman" Sandoe says that it is important for the community to rally together.

"it's very gratifying. We live work eat here and anytime you can give back to the community that you live of course is extremely gratifying. That's what members are all about, giving back showing appreciation for those who have stood the line for us,"

Hooters of West Ocean City director Matt Ortt tells WMDT that in a small beach town like Ocean City, many of the locals will always be there for support.

"We're a very small community. Those that live here year round and I had the pleasure of meeting both officers over the past couple of years. I didn't know them very well.  When something happens in this town to a local, especially someone that gives their time up for public safety we just need to rally behind them and help their families get on with this tough time,"

The event will take place every Friday during the month of July and all proceeds will be donated to the families.

To make a donation, contact Sandoe at 410-310-7660
