1-Year-Old Hospitalized After Balcony Fall

Posted: Updated:

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - A young child was rushed the hospital after falling from a balcony early Friday afternoon.

Rehoboth Beach Police say they were called to Snug Harbor complex in the North Shores Community north of Rehoboth, just after 12:30 PM.  Initial investigation shows that the 1-year-old girl fell two stories, landing on the pavement below.

"That's really sad, no young kids in my family, but I can't even begin to imagine," said one neighbor.

"It's just sad to hear, 1 year-old child...yeah...anything can happen," said another.

The child, who was visiting with her family from Pennsylvania, was taken by ambulance to Rehoboth Elementary, where she was flown by helicopter to A I DuPont Children's Hospital, with unknown injuries.

Due to the nature of incident information is limited, we will bring the very latest as it is available.
