CAMBRIDGE, Md. - After three months of apparent calm, authorities say they are investigating a fifth, intentionally set fire in Cambridge. Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says they were called to a fire at 455 High Street, in Cambridge, just after 12:30 AM on Friday. It took 30 firefighters, from 5 departments, to control the blaze.

The fire reportedly started on the second floor of the single family home, that was apparently undergoing renovations. Damages to the High Street home are estimated at $25,000. Officials say they determined that the fire was intentionally set, and have added it to the list of now five, unsolved arsons in less than a half mile area, that started back in March.

The other fires include one on March 20th, at 617 High Street, with $90,000 in damages. Two on March 26th, one at 601 Cross Street, with $15,00 in damages, the other at 523 Cedar Street with $20,000 in damages. And a fourth on April 5th, at 812 Fairmount Avenue, with damages totaling $95,000.

State Fire Marshal's Office is asking anyone with information on these events to contact them at their Lower Eastern Shore Regional Office at 410-713-3783. Tips can also be called into the Arson Hotline at 1-800-492-7529.
