Operation We Care Welcomes A Soldier Home

Posted: Updated:

WICOMICO CO., Md. - It was a little cloudy this morning but that didn't stop members of "Operation We Care" from helping to bring a young marine home from deployment in the Middle East this morning.

Nearly a dozen bikers escorted 20 year-old Marine, Jake Klaverweiden and his family home to the Naylor Mill Road area.

Jeff Merritt with Operation We Care says this is the least they can do for our local soldiers, "we want to show our appreciation for these soldiers and the efforts they've done and time that they've spent defending our freedom and just show our thanks and kind of remind them that they're not out there alone."

Jake is back home for three weeks before he is sent back out on his second deployment.  Watch WMDT on Sunday, June 30th for more on this story.
