DEWEY BEACH, Del. - WMDT spoke to businesses in Dewey Beach about how the weather has apparently made for a slow spring and sluggish start to the summer season.
Owners and managers at five shops along Coastal Highway all report a drop in sales from last season.
Hungry Shark says they've resorted to offering specials and discounts in order to attract customers.
"Compared to last year, we've been down about 45-56%. Business is slow. So we're really hoping its going to pick up this weekend," Owner Gafur Tursunov said.
Jeremiah's Beach Party tells WMDT they've also been slow, but business has been right on target this week with the summer season beginning to pick up.
