DOVER, Del. - An alleged Dover bank robber is now behind bars. Dover Police say around 2:00 PM on Monday afternoon, they received a call about a robbery at the WSFS Bank on S. DuPont Highway. When officers arrived on scene, they noticed the suspect near the IHOP Restaurant on S. Little Creek Road, and took 27-year-old Voncel Tate, of Smyrna, into custody.

An investigation showed that Tate walked into the bank wearing something covering his head, and sunglasses, then handed the teller a note that indicated that he had a bomb, and demanded money. He reported fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Tate is charged with 1st degree robbery, and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony. He is being held at James T. Vaughn Correction Center in Smyrna on $27,500 bond.
