NEW YORK - The two Ocean City brothers believed to be at the center of an East Coast cigarette smuggling ring, appeared in a New York courtroom today. Samir Ramadan was seeking to have his 15 million dollar bail reduced. That wish was not granted, and the number will remain the same.

His brother, Basel still has a remanded bail, meaning no monetary amount has been set, and he is not able to get out of jail. The brothers were taken into custody back in May from their homes in the Oyster Bay neighborhood.

They reportedly own several Ocean City businesses, the fate of which are still unknown. Both are due back in court next month. Basel is set to appear July 9th and Samir July 20th.
