DNREC Prepares For Mosquito Control Awareness Week

Posted: Updated:

DELAWARE - After recent heavy rainfall in Delaware, DNREC is now encouraging folks in the First State to take precautions against what is expected to be a large mosquito hatch.

National Mosquito Control Awareness Week is June 23-29th, during which the department is reminding residents to get rid of standing water in artificial containers, like tires and bird baths.

Also, DNREC will be actively spraying for mosquitoes, so if you have standing water near or around your home, let them know by calling the following telephone numbers.

New Castle County and northern Kent County from Dover north, call Mosquito Control's Glasgow office at 302-836-2555

Remainder of southern Kent County and all of Sussex County, call Mosquito Control's Milford office at 302-422-1512.
