MD Police Report Single Vehicle Accident In Berlin

BERLIN, Md. - At around 1:00 AM Saturday morning, Maryland State Police responded to a single vehicle collision at the intersection of US Route 50 and Maryland Route 610.

According to reports, witnesses saw a 2000 Toyota Echo traveling in lane one of westbound US route 50 and drift into the left turn lane for Maryland Route 610. The car then reportedly continued off the road, striking a light pole near the intersection.

Stephen Cohen was allegedly the only person in the car, and was transported by ambulance to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Troopers reported that Cohen was under the influence of alcohol and arrested.

Westbound US 50 was closed for about one hour for the investigation until the scene was cleared.
