WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A Wilmington man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to being a leader in a conspiracy to bring cocaine and heroin into the United States from Panama.
Thirty-five-year-old Kelvin Cook was sentenced Thursday.
Cook pleaded guilty in February to his role in recruiting drug couriers to bring illegal substances from Panama to Delaware.
Cook's attorney, R. Kerry Kalmbach, said Friday that it was a difficult case, but Cook was sentenced to less time than he likely would have gotten had he gone to trial.
