Salisbury City Council Work Session Agenda

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury City Council held a work session today to discuss some big ideas.

Many of them concern making Salisbury more "business friendly."

To improve the business environment, council is proposing "EDU Bank," that would donate water units to any new building in the downtown area, such as commercial development and retail.

The only exception would be affordable housing.

One EDU normally costs about $3,500, so this is a way to reduce costs of revitalization in the city.

In a closed session later in the afternoon, council discussed the firehouse in Salisbury. Mayor Jim Ireton is reportedly going to move forward with an offer to the bidders, and council hopes both parties can come to an agreement at the next session.
