8 Arrested On Drug Charges In Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Eight men are facing drug charges in Dorchester County, after Police searched a Cambridge home. On June 7th, Dorchester County Sheriff's Office's Narcotic Task Force searched a Cemetery Avenue apartment, on a warrant. During the search, 8 people were arrested, and authorities reportedly found a .22 caliber handgun, more than 17 grams of powdered cocaine, more than 10 grams of crack cocaine, and nearly 18 and a half grams of marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia.

20-year-old Donyei Batson, of Hurlock, is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine , possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on $25,000 bond.

20-year-old Terrance Conway, of Cambridge, is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on $25,000 bond.

20-year-old Tyvonte Watson, of Cambridge, is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on $25,000 bond.

21-year-old Thomas Burton, of Salisbury, is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on $25,000 bond.

21-year-old Devin Kemp, of Salisbury, is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on $25,000 bond.

20-year-old Orville T. Nichols of Salisbury is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on $25,000 bond.

19-year-old James Collins 5th, of Parsonsburg, is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on $25,000 bond.

According to the report, not all the arrests went off without a hitch, the reported target of the investigation, 43-year-old Orville S. Nichols, tried to run from Police by fleeing through a 3rd floor window onto a roof. Once outside, Deputies say Nichols lost his footing, and fell to the ground. After the fall, Police reportedly found a handgun and cocaine on him. Nichols had to be treated for injuries, at PRMC, and on June 12th, after he was released for the hospital, he was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, wearing and carrying a loaded handgun, using a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance with a firearm, possession of a firearm after a prohibited crime, illegal possession of a regulated firearm and possession of  a regulated firearm after a felony conviction. He is being held at Dorchester County Detention Center on $200,000 bond.
