UPDATE: Man's Name Released In Two Vehicle Georgetown Crash

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Delaware State Police have released the name of the Maryland man that was killed in a two vehicle crash Friday morning on Seashore Highway.

According to the DSP report, 78-year-old Thomas Ferry, was driving on Seashore Highway just after 11:00 AM, when he crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting a GMC Sierra, driven by 65-year-old Bridgeville resident, Thomas Slaughter. The two vehicles came to a stop on the highway, just East of Marsh Road.

Ferry was pronounced dead at the scene. He was reportedly wearing a seat belt. Slaughter, who was also reportedly wearing a seat belt, was treated for minor injuries at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, and released.

Seashore Highway was closed for three hours while the crash was investigated by authorities, and cleared. The incident remained under investigation by the DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit at this time.
