Former Ocean City Police Chief Passes Away

OCEAN CITY, Md. - The former Police Chief of a local beach town has passed away. Ocean City Police says their former leader, Frank G. Pappas, died surrounded by family on June 9th. He was 90 years old.

Pappas was Chief from 1980 until January 1986. He was reportedly responsible for establishing a new police administrative system, along with rewriting the department's general orders, and the operations and conduct policy.

Current acting Chief Greg Guiton said this of Pappas "Chief Pappas was an essential part of the current success of the Ocean City Police Department. Many of the initiatives and policies that he established are still in place today."
